When will SpamGuard be released?
There is no date yet. The add-on is in development (1.0.0 Alpha).
Lite or Pro?
Lite is free and includes the basic rules: honeypot, time trap, StopForumSpam and the link limit for new users. Pro adds the full rule set and the AI review of borderline cases. The full comparison is on the product page.
Which data leaves my server?
- StopForumSpam: IP address, email address and username, if “Check StopForumSpam” is on. The option can be turned off.
- AI provider (Pro only): only borderline cases, and only pseudonymised. Usernames, email addresses, IPs, phone numbers, bank details and URL paths are replaced first. Currently this is Mistral AI, with your own API key.
- Licence check (Pro only): licence key and board URL to Lemon Squeezy.
Nothing goes through servers of mine.
What happens if the AI or StopForumSpam is unreachable?
If the AI provider does not respond or returns an error, the borderline case goes to the moderation queue. If StopForumSpam is unreachable, only that one rule is skipped, the others keep checking. The forum is never blocked.
What happens without a valid licence?
The forum keeps working normally and SpamGuard runs with the Lite feature set. If only the update period has ended, the Pro features keep working. You just no longer get new versions and support.
If the licence service cannot be reached for a longer time, SpamGuard temporarily runs as Lite until the licence can be verified again. The “License key” option in the ACP shows the status.

Later. Invision Community 5 will follow after the XenForo release.
